Our 16-week postnatal exercise course take place in the water and is ideal whether you’ve had a baby recently, or quite some time ago. As well as helping you to strengthen and rebuild your tummy muscles by working from the inside out, our postnatal classes are a great way to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles, boost your energy levels and start to get your body back. We call it ‘wraparound care’ because it’s like a big hug for every bit of you – physical, mental and emotional – and will help you manage everything your busy life throws at you.
WaterBumps’ postnatal exercise course also helps with c-section recovery, and if you’re looking to return to your previous exercise routine, our classes will help to safely prepare your body beforehand – all alongside some rare and precious ‘me-time’!
You can start attending classes once you’ve been signed off medically after giving birth. This could be any time after your 6-week post-natal check for a vaginal delivery, or 10 weeks after a caesarean section, since c-section recovery time is longer. Our postnatal exercise courses run for 8 weeks and are held in pools that are maintained at a comfortable temperature. Each class lasts 40 minutes.
Each class is a mix of ‘deconstructed’ swimming skills, yoga stances and relaxation techniques, plus pelvic-floor and breathing techniques, strengthening, cardiovascular workout and blissful relaxation.
